Welcome An Expert Team Assistants & Staff

Dental Assistants & Staff

Erin, Practice Administrator

I was born and raised in “rainy” Vancouver, Washington. I attended Clover Park Technical College and graduated with a Certified Dental Assisting degree in 1992. Moving to the beautiful “sunny” Central Coast in 1998 was a wonderful change. I was employed as a dental assistant for thirteen years, before going back to college for a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of La Verne. I continued working as an office manager while attending college for my Masters of Business Administration, also from the University of La Verne, with concentrations in management/leadership and technical information. I enjoy working in the dental industry, as it was my first employment choice, and feel it is an incredibly rewarding and exciting field. Working with children is especially wonderful since they are constantly changing, and embrace learning. I love hearing how excited the kids are after they come for a visit, and how much the parents enjoy our great practice too!

I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my wonderful husband, James, and our daughter, Rheanna. We spend quite a lot of time walking our dogs, going to movies, and the gym.

Erica, Registered Dental Assistant

Upon graduating from Allan Hancock College in 1992, I was hired by Dr. Cottrell on my 20th birthday. What a wonderful gift that turned out to be. Having always wanted to work with children, adolescents, and those with special needs, this job has been a perfect match for me. I work with an amazing group of girls and always look forward to seeing the faces that walk through our doors each day. Over the years, I have found that it is our patients with special needs that have touched my heart tremendously. I moved to Atascadero when I was 4 and love living on the Central Coast. I was blessed in 2009 when I became a proud Aunt of twins, Max and Sophie. They are a joy to be around, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for them and their future. Over the years I have enjoyed travel throughout the United States with my wonderful family. I love getting to see the beautiful sites that make up our country. In my spare time I love spending time with my great group of friends, whether it is at a concert or a BBQ.

ChantelleTreatment & Financial Coordinator

I have been working with Dr. Cottrell since 2006. Being the Treatment and Financial Coordinator, I do my best to help you understand and utilize any insurance benefits that you may have. I very much enjoy our team at the office. The diversity in personalities always keeps me smiling. Working with our wonderful patients keeps me on my toes. There is never a dull moment in our office. I was born and raised here on the beautiful Central Coast, graduated from Atascadero High School, and attended Cuesta College. With my free time I like to spend as much of it outside as possible. Whether it be walking my dog Diesel, reading, horseback riding, camping, target shooting, or gardening with my boyfriend.

Amanda, Dental Assistant

In March of 2009, I was presented with an amazing opportunity to join Dr. Cottrell and his wonderful staff. I was delighted. I enjoy working with children as well as being in the dental profession. I love teeth! Having two of my own children has really helped me in what it takes work with and understand children. It also gives me a parent’s perspective on every day cares and concerns. My husband and I play an active role in our church and community groups where we love spending time with our girls and our family.

Rachel, Registered Dental Assistant

I graduated from the Monterey Peninsula Dental Assisting Program in 1997, earning my RDA, CDA, Radiology, and Coronal Polishing Certifications. Soon after, I began assisting for a local family practice where I spent the next 7 years. While I enjoyed working with a variety of people of different ages, my true passion came from the “little people.” So in 2007 I was thrilled when the opportunity to work with children became available with Dr. Cottrell. The constant energy and enthusiasm from the children and staff alike have made this my most enjoyable and rewarding experience yet!! It is my goal to not only get to know each and every child but to help them have the BEST and MOST positive dental experience possible! On a more personal note, I have a wonderful husband of 10 years and 2 amazing little munchkins of my own! I love nothing more than spending time with them! Watching them watch the world brings out my inner child, and is the most exciting and fun part of parenting! And let’s not forget about time alone with the hubby whether it be snowboarding, taking a cruise or just hanging out watching all of my favorite reality TV shows…now that’s a good husband!

Lexi, Scheduling Coordinator

Say cheese!! Teeth are amazing!

Hi, I'm Lexi Mattice Pearl, and at the age of seventeen, I was exposed to my first job in the dental field. I began as a file clerk in a busy San Luis Obispo practice, and quickly advanced to coordinating appointments and greeting our patients with a smile. After graduation from Templeton High School, I enrolled in the dental assisting program at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria. One year later, I was ready to continue my journey into the life of dentistry. Born and raised in Atascadero, I never drifted far from home. When you live in paradise, why leave it?

During my career, I have met and helped many people achieve their ultimate goal of being able to smile with confidence. I have found dentistry to be a fulfilling career. One of my strong suits is being able to make people feel comfortable and confident that the dental treatment they are receiving is the best available. I have been fortunate to have worked with adults and children in my career. I am once again proud to be a part of Pure Pediatric Dentistry! Children are such a blessing in all of our lives. Watching my daughter grow into a teenager has also helped me grow in my profession. As parents we always want what is best for our children. I look forward to helping your children smile and "say cheese" with confidence!
