National Children's Dental Health Month

National Children's Dental Health Month is one of the many ways we help our local communities, including Atascadero, Paso Robles, Templeton, and San Luis Obispo. Every February, we focus efforts working with local schools and other organizations to ensure residents of all ages are educated about the importance of oral health to good overall health as well as the impact oral health can have on a child's learning and school performance. Dr. David Cottrell has been visiting local schools during National Children's Dental Health Month as well as at other times throughout the school year for more than ten years. He and members of his staff have visited preschool, kindergarten, and first grade classes to illustrate good dental health habits as well as to explain the importance of nutrition and diet to good oral - and overall - health.

• Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss for Cal Poly and Atascadero High School students in support of their charity dodge ball tournament to raise money and donations for a summer camp held for orphaned Thai children, 2011
