Hospital Dentistry
It is sometimes necessary to complete dental treatment on children using general anesthesia to ensure a comfortable and safe experience for the patient. At Pure Pediatric Dentistry, we do not make this decision lightly.
Often, treatment is first attempted in an office setting with or without sedative medications. However, we believe that conducting dental procedures in a hospital can be the best option for some children, particularly those with extreme anxiety (dental phobia) or mental or physical special needs, or those who need an extensive treatment procedure.
Dr. Cottrell is on staff at several local hospitals, including French Hospital, Twin Cities Community Hospital, Sierra Vista Regional Community Hospital, and Templeton Surgery Center. All procedures are performed on an outpatient basis so that children are only in the hospital for a few hours instead of overnight. The anesthesia and nursing staff are highly skilled, courteous, and professional.
